Frequently, collectors spend thousands of dollars on glass sculpture that is accidentally damaged.
It is the intention of Bokrosh Studio to find a creative way to fix the broken art glass sculpture so that the collector can once again appreciate the beauty and design the original artist had intended.
In unusual circumstances major pieces of glass are either found at garage sales or are purchased as seconds.
Occasionally these pieces can be restored to perfect condition, increasing their value by thousands of dollars.
The list on the right is a representation of restorations undertaken, either repaired or re-sculpted, due to breakage or shipping damage.
These works were either brought to my studio by the original artist for repair or were brought by a collector who had already purchased the sculpture and it had sustained damage while in their collection.
Often restorations can be executed so that the original artist would be hard-pressed to see the repair.
Other repairs may not be as successful.
In these situations some sort of compromise between the original intention and the repair of the sculpture can be realized.
Bokrosh Studio always recommends that the collector contact the original artist, if possible, prior to the restoration of the sculpture.
All repair and restoration work done by Bokrosh Studio is held in complete confidentiality.
Conditions for Glass Art consigned to Bokrosh Studio for repair or restoration:
Bokrosh Studio is not held responsible for any breakage or loss of client's glass during the process of repair and restoration, and/or any loss due to theft, fire or accident while on the premises of Bokrosh Studio.
A non-refundable deposit is required amounting to 50% of the original estimate of repair costs given by Bokrosh Studio.
This deposit will be deducted from the final price of repair and in the rare case that the glass was lost or broken the deposit will be kept by Bokrosh Studio for time spent working on the restoration.
Shipping Requirements: The collector will pay for shipping to and from Bokrosh Studio. All sculptures should be double box and insured for loss.
The collector also pays Bokrosh Studio for the time to pack and box the repaired piece of glass art.
Occasionally in the process of repairing a sculpture the original artist's signature is at risk of being removed.
The collector should be advised of this possibility, and it is the collector's responsibility to inform Bokrosh Studio whether or not to keep the signature present regardless of the repair aesthetic.
